- ➤ The Tom Green County Sheriff's Office announced visitation for Precinct 2 Commissioner Sammy Farmer at Immanuel Baptist Church (90 E. 14th St.) on Jan. 27, 2026 from 4 to 7 p.m., and a memorial service on Jan. 28 at 10 a.m. Farmer passed on Jan. 20 after years of service. San Angelo LIVE!
- ➤ A GoFundMe campaign launched by Jody Hart—an organizer and friend—has raised $650 toward an $1,800 goal to help a San Angelo man whose home burned down on Jan. 16 at 337 W. Ave. P by funding a camper for temporary shelter and pressing needs; the fundraiser remains active. San Angelo LIVE!

- ➤ The SAISD Board approved closing Reagan and Bowie Elementary after the 2026‑27 school year to address declining enrollment, staffing challenges and budget shortfalls, saving about 1.8 million dollars annually. New attendance boundaries will be set for the 2027‑28 school year to guide families through the transition. KWFR

- ➤ Today, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is stocking rainbow trout into the Concho River at Oakes Street Lake to beat winter weather expected on Friday. Anglers are advised to use varied baits and follow the limit of five trout per day. San Angelo LIVE!

- ➤ Representative August Pfluger sent a letter urging EPA and USDA to consider single-lethal-dose baits to fight rising predation that is hurting local sheep and goat producers — a move meant to help local farms. San Angelo LIVE!

- ➤ Charles Roberts of Trinity caught the season's first Legacy Class ShareLunker, a 13.75-pound bass, at O.H. Ivie on Tuesday, Jan. 20 (45 miles east of San Angelo). - ➤ Former San Angelo Central player Colton Freeman has been promoted to head football coach at Pasadena Memorial, where he served as interim coach last year with a 3-7 record (he played at the University of Houston before a career-ending injury). San Angelo LIVE!
- ➤ On Tuesday, the Veribest boys basketball team upset 16th-ranked Water Valley with a 67-56 home win, shaking up district standings as their record improved to 20-6 while Water Valley fell to 10-3; they will host Garden City on Jan. 27. San Angelo LIVE!
