- ➤ San Angelo gets its first rolled ice cream shop when Roll House opens Saturday at 3266 Sherwood Way before Valentine's Day. Owned by Lisa and Jackson Rowan, the shop will serve ice cream from noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, noon to 10 p.m. Friday-Saturday, and 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday. San Angelo Standard-Times
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The demolition of Sam Houston Elementary is nearly complete in San Angelo, and SAISD Superintendent Christopher Moran said two other campuses (Reagan and Bowie, scheduled to close after the school year) will be evaluated for future use once students are relocated. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The San Angelo/Tom Green County Health Department released Feb. 1-7 restaurant inspection scores showing that some establishments achieved perfect marks while others, like El Paisano No. 3, Roxie's Diner, and Tinseltown, scored low due to repeat safety violations such as unsafe storage and unclean surfaces.
