- ➤ A routine inspection of a commercial vehicle near the intersection of North Bryant Boulevard and West 33rd Street in north San Angelo turned into a manhunt on Thursday at 4:40 p.m. after a passenger fled toward Riverside Golf Course and the driver, Carlos Jose Velasquez-Varela (29), was arrested on an ICE immigration detainer and booked into Tom Green County Jail. - ➤ The nonprofit Back the Badge Clay Shoot will be held on March 29th at the San Angelo Claybird Association (13525 Duncan Road) to raise funds for the San Angelo Police Department and Tom Green County Sheriff's Office. Registration begins at 8 a.m., with the shoot starting at 9:30 a.m., lunch served at noon and raffles and an auction to follow. San Angelo Standard-Times

- ➤ San Angelo soccer teams returned home with three playoff trophies on Thursday as the Central girls won a penalty shootout over Eastwood after a 3-3 tie, the Central boys defeated Socorro 1-0, and the Lake View girls beat Austin in a shootout after 100 scoreless minutes — and they will play in area rounds early next week.
