ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A food trailer exploded inside Affordable Storage on U.S. Highway 67 late Sunday night at 11:45 p.m.—firefighters from Dove Creek and neighboring departments quickly responded with no injuries while The Tasty Kraut closed and owner Pia Buchwalder launched a GoFundMe to cover losses not met by insurance.  San Angelo LIVE!

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Coleman Olive Oil Co. is opening a new specialty shop that offers gourmet olive oil and Italian balsamic vinegar in downtown San Angelo this May at (19 W Beauregard Ave). The store will feature a tasting bar where customers can try products before they buy.  San Angelo LIVE!

CULTURE NEWS

  • Country music star Parker McCollum will perform at the San Angelo Coliseum on Friday, Sept. 5th as part of his 2025 tour and will be joined by special guests Kameron Marlowe—billed as the main support act—and Vincent Mason—set to open the show. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 28 with a presale starting at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 27 using the password JEANS, and one dollar from each sale will benefit The Ruger Fund.  San Angelo LIVE!
  • Angelo State University will host Dr. Juliana Barr from Duke University on March 27 in the Lone Star Lecture Series—she will explore the legend of the Lady in Blue, a 17th-century Spanish nun said to have visited Texas tribes. The presentation begins at 6 p.m. at the Houston Harte University Center on 1910 Rosemont Drive and is free and open to the public.  San Angelo LIVE!
  • A limited-run cocktail event inspired by Edgar Allan Poe’s works will take place in San Angelo on March 28–29 at Cain’s Cove on Lake Nasworthy, where a 90-minute performance will present reimagined classic tales and themed cocktails (21+). Organized by Haunted Tavern, the event will require advance ticket purchase for $45 with seating available only for small groups.  San Angelo LIVE!

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • San Angelo’s Planning and Development Services Department will hold two town hall meetings next week to discuss proposed changes to local ordinances affecting sign rules and a Cultural District expansion. The March 31 meeting at Tom Green County Library will address amendments for billboard and sign height standards while the April 1 meeting at the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts will focus on preserving cultural and historical assets — city officials aim to update current regulations for future development.  San Angelo LIVE!

SPORTS NEWS

  • Angelo State softball endured a tough weekend as the Rambelles lost two close games to #3 West Texas A&M on Friday night and were swept by Midwestern State on Sunday, scoring only three runs against Midwestern and being outscored 18-0 by West Texas A&M. Angelo State stands at 26-8 overall and 17-7 in LSC play and will play UT-Permian Basin this weekend.  KWFR
  • The No.6-ranked Angelo State baseball team swept Texas A and M International in a four-game series over the weekend to extend its winning streak to six games. Austin Beck broke the program’s stolen base record by reaching his 100th steal—ASU will begin a four-game series at Texas A and M Kingsville Friday at 6 p.m.  San Angelo LIVE!
