🚨 Crime
A San Angelo man, 72, was arrested Monday after police found he had been placing bottle caps with nails inserted in them on roads near his home, which led to multiple punctured tires.
Police arrested 27-year-old Christian Knowlton in Fredericksburg after he was accused of assaulting an 81-year-old woman during a robbery in San Angelo on April 7; officers connected the stolen white 2018 Jeep Renegade (plate MNH2244) to the case.
Yesterday, Chief Travis Griffith updated the community on a tire puncture crime—officers are searching for a man suspected of injuring an 81-year-old on Rodeo Drive.
🎓 Education
Angelo State University's Department of Nursing invites local 9th through 11th grade students to join its Summer Nursing Discovery Camps on campus; the camp for incoming 9th grade students runs from June 1 to 6 while the camp for incoming 10th and 11th grade students is set from July 6 to 11. The $500 fee covers tuition, housing, meals and swag (registration ends May 5).
🏈 Sports
The No. 1-ranked Angelo State baseball team beat No. 19 St. Edward’s 12-7 Monday afternoon at Foster Field as Brett Smajstrla and Chase Pendley each had three hits to help the Rams improve to a 31-7 record.
They will travel to play West Texas A&M on Friday, April 11.
Angelo State baseball defeated #19 St. Edward's 12 to 7 in a home game on April 8 + the Rams won three out of four in the series + they now lead the Lone Star Conference by one game over UT-Tyler with three weeks left.
