- ➤ Angelo State University was named a Military Friendly School with a Gold Award for the 2025-26 academic year — its 16th honor that puts it among 80 large public institutions. - ➤ San Angelo ISD announced 2025 graduation ceremonies for Central High School, Lake View High School and PAYS. Central High will hold its ceremony on May 24 at 9:00 a.m. at the Angelo State University Junell Center (Stephens Arena), Lake View High will hold its graduation on May 24 at 11:45 a.m. at the CRC Roofers Coliseum, and PAYS will graduate on May 22 at 6:00 p.m. at the McNease Convention Center; all events will be live streamed (on the district website). - ➤ Representatives from the San Angelo City Council and other dignitaries attended a ceremony in Lubbock Monday to mark the 4.2-mile expansion of Interstate 27 as part of the Ports-to-Plains Corridor—the Texas Department of Transportation and the Ports-to-Plains Alliance hosted the event to extend the interstate along FM 1585 south of Lubbock.
