- ➤ Texans will save money on emergency supplies with no tax during a sales tax holiday from Saturday, April 25 to Monday, April 27—items like batteries, flashlights and portable generators qualify if they meet set price limits. San Angelo Standard-Times
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Angelo State University's Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry was awarded a $75,000 grant from the Welch Foundation to buy new lab equipment (a fluorescence spectrometer, an ultra-low freezer, and a 32-core computer) that will boost student research and hands-on learning. San Angelo LIVE!

- ➤ Gov. Abbott announced that the Texas Health and Human Services Commission will provide $60 million in federal funding to rural hospital districts to expand community-based health programs; the move is expected to better serve local communities. San Angelo LIVE!

- ➤ Zumper data showed San Angelo apartment rents dropped 6% from March’s median of $1,360 to $1,276, with one-bedroom units falling from $921 to $909 and two-bedroom prices holding near flat.
