CRIME NEWS

  • San Angelo Police clarified yesterday morning that there is no credible threat at Lake View High School after a social media post led to calls about a student with a vape device who briefly fled a school resource officer — a second officer quickly resolved the situation with no weapons involved.  San Angelo LIVE!
  • A Katy man, Jermaine Levy Jr. 25, was indicted in Tom Green County for murdering San Angelo native Magdaleno Medina when officers found Medina’s body near the curb on Lake Drive — his bond was set at $1 million.  San Angelo LIVE!
  • Corrections officers at Tom Green County Jail reported that 20 individuals were booked in the past 24 hours on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and drug violations—several detainees were held on federal or immigration warrants while the facility now held 425 inmates.  San Angelo LIVE!

  • Angelo State University Wind Ensemble will hold its final spring concert on Sunday, April 27 at 2:30 p.m. in downtown San Angelo at the Murphey Performance Hall at 72 W. College Ave.—the free event will feature a full symphonic program including works by Katahj Copley, John Philip Sousa, and David Maslanka under the direction of Dr. Jonathan Alvis.  San Angelo LIVE!

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Texas Education Agency released school year 2022–2023 ratings and gave San Angelo ISD a D rating because data from Lake View High School’s spring semester was missing— the district said the error led to an incomplete report and is now appealing while having submitted corrected data.  San Angelo LIVE!
