- ➤ Angelo State University’s Mariachi Los Pastores will perform its free spring concert 'La Época de Oro' on Tuesday, April 28 at 7 p.m. in the Mayer Administration Building’s Elta Joyce Murphey Auditorium; guest Rudy Ramos and acts from Lake View High School and Mariachi Alma Mexicana will join. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Seven Santa Rita Elementary fifth-graders won the state Teamwork Challenge and will compete in the World VEX Robotics Competition in St. Louis from April 28-30. It is the first time a San Angelo ISD elementary campus is represented + the students spent extra hours perfecting their robots. San Angelo LIVE!
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Texas Parks & Wildlife Department stocked channel catfish in the Concho River at Oakes Street Lake, 396 S. Irving St last Friday as part of its Neighborhood Fishin’ program. Stockings will occur every two weeks until the end of October except in August. San Angelo LIVE!
- ➤ Burt Sempier and Police Chief Travis Griffith (of San Angelo) talk in episode 37 of Chat with the Chief on the FOX WEST TEXAS app. The V-cast gives local viewers insight into police work. FOX West Texas
- ➤ City data shows the top 25 water customers used 642 million gallons per year in 2025, making up about 16% of the metered usage. Goodfellow Air Force Base was the largest customer with 168 million gallons, and the Upper Colorado River Authority helped supply water to rural areas (including Miles). San Angelo LIVE!

- ➤ Concho Valley small school golfers are set for state championships in Austin soon. Defending boys champion Wall Hawks will compete in the 3A tournament on Apr. 27 to 28 and girls teams from Mason and Garden City will play in the 2A contest on May 4 to 5. San Angelo LIVE!
- ➤ Senior Marie Schuler set a new record with a 201 ft, 7 in hammer throw at Angelo State's team meet at LeGrand Stadium, where 19 provisional marks were recorded before the Lone Star Conference Championships in Canyon. San Angelo LIVE!
