  • A single-vehicle rollover crash occurred late Monday morning on US 277 south of San Angelo near the intersection of US 277 and FM 584 around 11:35 a.m.—first responders found the overturned vehicle in a ditch and one person was taken to a hospital as traffic was directed through one lane.  San Angelo LIVE!

  • Corrections officers at Tom Green County Jail reported 11 new bookings in the past 24 hours for charges including assault causing bodily injury, parole violation, and reckless driving—raising the inmate total to 419.  San Angelo LIVE!

CULTURE NEWS

  • Angelo State’s University Theatre will present the dark drama Our Dear Dead Drug Lord in the ASU Modular Theatre inside the Carr Education-Fine Arts Building starting Thursday, May 1. The production will have shows at 8 p.m. from May 1 to May 3 and a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. on May 11 while tickets cost $10 for the general public, $5 for non-ASU students, and free for ASU students and select subscribers.  San Angelo LIVE!
  • Today, Angelo State University's Mariachi Los Pastores will perform its annual spring concert at 7 p.m. in Murphey Performance Hall in downtown San Angelo. The free show, titled Revolucion!, features music from the Mexican Revolution and includes performances by Lake View High School seniors and Mariachi Alma Mexicana.  San Angelo LIVE!

  • Early voting is nearly over in Taylor and Tom Green counties—thousands have already cast their votes and officials expect more residents to vote before the deadline.  FOX West Texas
  • San Angelo student Akash Vukoti launched the nonprofit What Is On My Ballot to improve voter education after his parents were confused by a crowded ballot in a recent presidential election; he said the group will work with local election commissions to provide clear election details through mailed brochures, text messages, and printed materials at polling places — he is seeking community volunteers to support the effort.  San Angelo LIVE!
