  • San Angelo and Goodfellow first responders are conducting an emergency training exercise at Goodfellow AFB today; residents may hear loud sirens + face gate delays at base entrances.  San Angelo LIVE!
  • Ashley Ammons, the President and CEO of the United Way of the Concho valley, discussed the upcoming San Angelo Gives fundraiser that will support local community services in San Angelo. The announcement outlined plans to aid families in need.  San Angelo LIVE!
  • Food Bank of West Central Texas opened its expanded facility today to meet rising community needs. The new space increases capacity to serve more local families.  FOX West Texas

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Angelo State's Alpha Chi Chapter inducted 20 spring 2026 members at the Houston Harte University Center. The ceremony honored students who ranked in the top 10% of seniors or top 7.5% of juniors.  San Angelo LIVE!

SPORTS NEWS

  • State champion powerlifter and defensive tackle James Hogeda from Lake View High School committed to Sul Ross State on Wednesday, Apr. 29 to play college football in San Angelo. Hogeda impressed with his record at last season’s 7–4 run and is expected to boost the Lobos’ new Division II program.  San Angelo LIVE!
  • Former local standout Davis Martin pitched for the Chicago White Sox in a 5-2 win over the Los Angeles Angels on Wednesday — he allowed one run and struck out seven in 5.2 innings and will face the Angels again Monday night.  San Angelo LIVE!
  • San Angelo Central graduate Maverick McIvor accepted an invite to join the Dallas Cowboys’ rookie minicamp next month — he also received an offer from the Chicago Bears as he works to earn a roster spot.  San Angelo LIVE!
  • Former Angelo State linebacker Eric Rascoe was selected sixth overall by the Calgary Stampeders in the CFL Draft on Tuesday. He earned three first-team All-Lone Star Conference honors during his college career and compiled 225 tackles in 48 games for the Rams.  San Angelo LIVE!
  • Angelo State University baseball team (ranked No. 3 in NCAA South Central Regional polls) will host Texas A&M University-Kingsville in a best-of-three series with Game 1 scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday, May 2 at Foster Field at 1st Community Credit Union Stadium.  San Angelo LIVE!
  • Water Valley senior Boston Wiese will represent Team USA in the CanAm Bowl on July 4 in Meeteetse, Wyoming. He earned state honors last season and joins four other Texas players in this all-star event.  San Angelo LIVE!
  • Angelo State University softball was ranked third in the South Central Region by the NCAA on Wednesday and holds a 42-9 overall record (31-5 in Lone Star play). The team will play doubleheaders against West Texas A&M and Eastern New Mexico University this weekend.  San Angelo LIVE!
  • The Wall Hawks swept Blanco with wins of 12-1 and 3-0 on Wednesday in Brownwood — clinching a Bi-District Championship and advancing to the Area Round where they will face the winner of Breckenridge and Henrietta next weekend.  San Angelo LIVE!
  • The Wall Lady Hawks outscored Jacksboro 9-4 on Wednesday night in Game 1 of the Area Round Playoffs in Eula, powered by two three-run home runs from Madee Williams (who pitched all seven innings). Game 2 will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday in Eula.  San Angelo LIVE!
