- ➤ Angelo State’s BizPitch 2026 took place at Houston Harte University Center, where StimMouse won first prize and $2,500 while other finalists received cash prizes to support their ventures. - ➤ After nearly two weeks of declines, gas prices in San Angelo rose to $3.97 per gallon today, a 32-cent increase from last week and $1.35 higher than this time last year, as crude oil climbed above $100 per barrel + global uncertainty drove prices upward. San Angelo LIVE!
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The USDA designated San Patricio County for severe drought and Runnels County for drought + excessive heat, making farmers and ranchers in those and nearby counties eligible for low-interest emergency loans until Nov. 19. The announcement was made on Apr. 30. San Angelo LIVE!
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Wall Lady Hawks and Jacksboro are tied after Jacksboro won 9-3 in Game 2 on Thursday following Wall’s 9-4 win in Game 1; the teams will meet at 6 p.m. Monday in Eula for a deciding Game 3 + the winner will advance to Class 3A Division II regionals. San Angelo LIVE!
- ➤ The Angelo State women's golf team will play in its third NCAA regional at the Pueblo Country Club in Pueblo, Colorado, from May 4-6 – the event will determine qualifiers for the Division II championships later this month. San Angelo LIVE!
- ➤ Central Bobcats offensive lineman Ethan Boyd (6-foot-5, 300-pound) received his seventh Division I offer from the U.S. Naval Academy on Thursday at his school. He has drawn interest from several top programs after helping his team secure a playoff win last fall. San Angelo LIVE!
- ➤ Anthone Luna, a Wall High School assistant coach, has been named Breckenridge's head baseball coach. He will remain with Wall until its playoff run is over and could face his new team in next week’s area round (pending scheduling). San Angelo LIVE!
