Local youth Michael Rodriguez submitted his 8-inch, 0.4-pound Rio Grande Cichlid caught on Oakes Street to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for pending record certification, as officials noted no records exist for this species.
In Game Three of the Area Round, the Wall Lady Hawks led early but fell 3–2 in the final inning to the Jacksboro Tigerettes — finishing with a strong 26–7 record this season.
The No. 2-seeded Angelo State baseball team beat Texas A&M-Kingsville 12-2 on Monday afternoon at Foster Field and advanced to the double-elimination portion of the LSC Championship.
