- ➤ Graduation ceremonies for high schools and colleges in San Angelo are scheduled for May—high school events include TLCA on May 16, PAYS on May 22, and Central and Lake View on May 24, while college graduations will take place at Angelo State University and CRC Roofers Coliseum between May 16 and May 20; all events will be live streamed on the SAISD website and broadcast on local channels. - ➤ The San Angelo City Council certified the May 3 election results during a Wednesday morning special meeting—declaring Thomas Thompson mayor with 5,095 votes, approving Proposition A with 5,435 votes for versus 4,813 against, and naming Patrick Keely the District 4 winner. With no candidate winning a majority in District 2, the council scheduled a runoff between Joe Self Jr. and Dudra Butler for Saturday, June 7—with all motions passing unanimously on a 5—0 vote. - ➤ The San Angelo ISD Board of Trustees canvassed the May 3 election results on Monday evening + confirming that the $397 million bond package passed with 5,611 votes for and that four trustee races were certified—Karla Cardenas and Ami Mizell-Flint won their contests while Bill Dendle and Dr. Taylor Kingman ran unopposed.
