ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A driver with a suspected medical condition lost control on 29th Street at about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Lake View Towne Center parking lot — triggering a five-vehicle crash that involved a white Chevy Suburban and other cars — and was taken to Shannon Medical Center while no one else was injured. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ San Angelo ISD is offering free summer breakfasts and lunches to children and teens at various walk-in sites, including at Goliad Elementary and the Southside Boys & Girls Club — kids simply show up as meals are provided without paperwork needed. San Angelo LIVE!
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Early voting ended Tuesday evening in San Angelo for the District 2 city council runoff—248 in-person ballots and 31 absentee ballots were cast as voters set the stage for a contest between Joe Self and Dedra D. Butler. Election Day will be Saturday, June 7 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at several local voting sites. San Angelo LIVE!
- ➤ Texas Senate Bill 25 is under review by Gov. Abbott and may require warning labels on packaged foods like Doritos, Mountain Dew, and Froot Loops if they contain any of 44 ingredients restricted abroad. If passed, food makers will update labels starting in 2027—this rule will change how ingredients are disclosed on many processed items. San Angelo Standard-Times

- ➤ Wall High School’s Amelia Taylor was named the Class 1A-4A Tennis Athlete of the Year by the Texas Tennis Coaches Association after winning the Class 3A girls singles title as a freshman with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Kailey Albrecht—Wall head coach Kayla Parker also earned Coach of the Year for leading a program that qualified two other players for state. - ➤ Angelo State University student Kylie Frush was named the Lone Star Conference Female Field Athlete of the Year after finishing 12th overall in the heptathlon at her second NCAA Division II meet in May. The junior from Glen Rose earned All-American honors and won the David Noble Award—granted to the best female track athlete at the conference outdoor championships. San Angelo LIVE!
