The West Texas Pickle Fest will take place Saturday, June 13 at Bart Dewitt Park and The Bosque, 330 S.

Irving St (VIP entry begins at 10 a.m. and open ceremonies start at 11 a.m.). Attendees can enjoy a car show, food trucks, vendors, and contests along with family fun.

Angelo State University has honored three employees with the Rodgers Distinguished Awards for exceptional service — Manny Campos, Brit Heppler and Dr. David Bixler each received $2,500 during a recent ceremony at the Houston Harte University Center.

San Angelo taxpayers may incur up to $150,000 if recall petitions force special elections for Mayor Tom Thompson and Councilman Harry Thomas.

The mayoral recall needs 2,971 signatures by June 22 while the District 3 petition requires 47 signatures by July 28.

Angelo State freshman William Opare was named the USTFCCCA National Men’s Track Athlete of the Year on Thursday — he broke records in the 400 and 200 meters at the outdoor championships.

This marks his first national honor for track at Angelo State.

The Texas Longhorns clinched back-to-back national softball titles on Thursday night with a 4–1 win over Texas Tech in the Women’s College World Series final.
