Downtown San Angelo, Inc. was named a 2026 Accredited Main Street America program for its downtown revitalization efforts that have drawn over $10 million in local reinvestment and spurred the opening of eight new businesses each year.

San Angelo ISD will meet Monday at 5:45 p.m. at 1621 University to discuss construction projects, new attendance boundaries for 2027-2028, and bond-related financial matters while recognizing the Central High School Indoor Percussion Program and scholarship recipients.

The San Angelo ISD Board voted 6—1 on June 15 to approve new elementary attendance boundaries that will take effect July 1, 2027.

The changes aim to balance enrollment and support long-term sustainability, and families have over a year to prepare.

The Texas Animal Health Commission designated an infested zone in parts of Sutton, Kimble, and Schleicher counties after confirming a New World screwworm in a sheep on June 12, raising U.S. cases to 12.

Movement restrictions require any warm-blooded animals (including hides) to be inspected before leaving the zone.

Officials reported 12 New World screwworm cases across Texas and New Mexico, with 11 cases in Texas—including one in Tom Green County—and one case in a dog in New Mexico.

Quarantine measures are in place across 15 Texas counties while the FDA approved emergency treatment for affected pets.
