- ➤ A 33-year-old Mexican national wanted for homicide was arrested by ICE on March 25 in Carlsbad—16 miles northwest of San Angelo—and deported to Mexico on June 18 after an arrest warrant was issued in Zacatecas on Dec. 17, 2024. San Angelo LIVE!

- ➤ Angelo State University was named a national College of Distinction for the 2025-26 academic year for the eighth year in a row, making it one of only 420 schools and seven Texas public universities to earn the honor. The university also received additional recognitions as a Public College, Texas College, Affordability College, Military Support College and International College of Distinction and was named a Business, Education and Nursing College of Distinction for its academic programs.
