  • GoFundMe launched a verified online hub for flood relief in San Angelo to help people affected by recent floods. The hub is updated by GoFundMe's Trust — Safety team to check new fundraisers so donations go to real causes.  San Angelo LIVE!
  • Wild West Fest, San Angelo LIVE, and local partners are hosting a benefit concert and auction Friday at 5 p.m. at the Arc Light Bar and Grill in the Clarion Hotel to raise $10,000 for flood victims—proceeds will support the San Angelo Area Foundation’s disaster relief fund.  San Angelo Standard-Times

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • San Angelo officials confirmed that longtime Walmart Neighborhood Market employee Tanya Burwick died when her SUV was swept away by floodwaters near Bell Street on July 4th and her body was found on July 5th—city crews reported only minor injuries from the flood that affected over 12,100 structures.  San Angelo LIVE!

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Loop 306 between Main Street and Bell Street is closed through Friday for flood damage assessment—eastbound drivers must exit at Main Street while westbound drivers exit at Bell Street and follow a detour via Pulliam Street.  San Angelo LIVE!
  • San Angelo and Tom Green County officials urged residents on Monday to report flood damage promptly after heavy rains during the Fourth of July weekend, warning that state and federal aid depends on accurate surveys. Local leaders said crews will soon begin debris removal — temporary shelters at PaulAnn Baptist Church are open daily to assist with surveys and services.  San Angelo LIVE!
  • San Angelo officials announced that bulk trash and recycling pickup is suspended until further notice because flooding closed the landfill and crews are focusing on hard-hit neighborhoods—residents should leave regular trash at their curb on normal collection days and call 325-657-4323 if they need a replacement trash can.  San Angelo LIVE!
