- ➤ Chancellor Tedd L. Mitchell announced Friday that he will retire within the year after leading the Texas Tech University System for more than 15 years & serving as TTUHSC president before becoming chancellor in 2018. - ➤ The National Weather Service said a flood watch is in effect for much of the Concho Valley today at 4 p.m. until 1 p.m. Sunday due to heavy rains that may cause flash flooding. Most areas will see 1—5 inches of rain while some spots might get close to 8 inches. San Angelo LIVE!

- ➤ San Angelo officials updated flood recovery efforts and said updated maps of restricted areas were expected Friday afternoon—officials hope the maps will guide next steps in the recovery work. FOX West Texas
- ➤ Tom Green County officials held a press conference Friday at City Hall to update residents on recovery efforts after the July 4 floods, noting that FEMA individual assistance and disaster grants are available+plans include moving the Disaster Resource Center to a new location.
