- ➤ Chief Travis Griffith announced an arrest in a murder investigation that began in August 2024—23-year-old Krystianna Ratcliffe is held on a $1 million bond. FOX West Texas
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Families can register for the Concho Valley Head Start and Early Head Start programs on August 6, with free enrollment for children ages 0–4 and extra prenatal support for expectant mothers. The in-person event runs from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at two San Angelo sites — Day Head Start at 3026 N. Oakes and San Jacinto Head Start at 800 Spaulding — and is based on income eligibility. - ➤ The SBA opened a Business Recovery Center at Angelo State University—69 N. Chadbourne St.—yesterday to help local small businesses, private nonprofits and residents impacted by storms, high winds and flooding that began July 2. SBA representatives provided walk-in assistance for disaster loan applications and explained loan options with deadlines for physical damage and economic injury claims. San Angelo LIVE!
- ➤ If your vehicle was damaged from the floods in July, you may qualify for FEMA help to pay for repairs or replacement even if you do not live in an affected county. - ➤ Texas Gov. Greg Abbott visited San Angelo on Thursday at Spur Arena—praising Tom Green County's flood response and meeting with local officials, first responders and families.
