ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Emergency crews responded to a crash at N. Bryant and W. 4th around noon Monday as a white SUV sustained front-end and wheel damage + police, fire, and EMS managed traffic, marking the third major crash reported in San Angelo within about an hour.  San Angelo LIVE!
  • A crash occurred Monday at Southland Boulevard & Sherwood Way when a white Ford pickup turning left collided with a black Chevrolet pickup hauling a trailer, leaving one driver with minor injuries and a traffic citation issued.  San Angelo LIVE!

CRIME NEWS

  • San Angelo police arrested three teenagers, including 17-year-old Justin Ramirez held at a $150,000 bond, in connection with the murder of 19-year-old Joe Angel Martinez III, with officials stating that the killing was narcotics related—now all suspects are in custody.  San Angelo Standard-Times

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • On July 4, record-breaking 15 inches of rain fell on San Angelo and caused a 1.6 million gallon sewage spill into the Concho River, city officials said. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality confirmed it was the only major wastewater spill reported from the storm — high river flow diluted the risk.  San Angelo LIVE!

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On Monday in San Angelo, Rep. August Pfluger held a town hall in the Tom Green County Commissioners’ Court Meeting Room and awarded certificates to local leaders such as County Judge Lane Carter and Mayor Tom Thompson for disaster response efforts — the Q&A then turned heated with questions on FEMA funding, border security, and Medicaid changes before Pfluger left to meet officials at Goodfellow Air Force Base.  San Angelo LIVE!
  • Property owners in Tom Green County with damage from the July 4 flood may get a temporary property tax exemption if they submit Form 50-312 with supporting documents by Oct. 20—applications can be submitted by email or in person.  San Angelo LIVE!
