- ➤ Today, LIVE! reported that SA LIVE! and Arc Light Bar & Grill raised over $150,000 for flood victims — the raised funds will support local recovery efforts. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Frank Flores, 39, was arrested at 6:15 a.m. on August 3rd for violently beating a woman at a residence in the 1000 block of Zuni Avenue—she sustained a broken wrist and nose with permanent injuries when deputies responded from Shannon Medical Center, and he is held on a $150,000 bond. - ➤ The San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts will open the Global Language of Headwear exhibit on August 22, featuring 89 hats from 42 countries that express cultural identity, rites of passage, and spirituality—sponsored by Suzanne Sugg and Beverly Stribling. - ➤ The San Angelo City Council will vote today at 8:30 a.m. at the McNease Convention Center on $2 million in flood recovery funds, zoning changes, and grant approvals to address recent flood damage—additional agenda items include hazard mitigation planning and recognition of Fess Parker’s 101st birthday. - ➤ Most high school football teams began practices Monday to prepare for the 2025 season, but San Angelo Central did not start practice. - ➤ The Wall Hawks, led by first-year quarterback Landon York and seven returning starters from last year’s 13-2 run, are ranked No. 3 in state Class 3A Division II and aim for a state-title run.
