- ➤ San Angelo ISD said that a new state law, House Bill 1481, bans personal devices like cellphones, smartwatches, tablets and gaming devices from being visible during the school day while school-issued devices for learning remain unaffected. Officials said if a student is caught with a device, staff will confiscate it — with penalties ranging from a verbal warning on the first offense to a 90-day retention on repeated violations. - ➤ San Angelo ISD announced a new rule today that bans personal devices from use on campus as required by a Texas law. The policy allows exceptions for students with approved needs and calls for confiscating devices with escalating consequences—first a verbal warning, then devices held for 3, 10, or 90 days on repeated offenses.
