ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Two people were hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Martin Luther King Drive and West 23rd Street on Friday—a Nissan Frontier driver failed to yield at a stop sign and struck a northbound Hyundai, prompting rescuers to use the Jaws of Life.  San Angelo LIVE!
  • A vehicle caught fire in the Academy Sports + Outdoors parking lot at 4351 Sunset Drive at about 8:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8 as emergency crews, law enforcement and fire personnel responded; the incident remains under investigation.  San Angelo LIVE!

CRIME NEWS

  • A San Angelo man named Christopher Cannon, 34, was shot by his ex-girlfriend after he allegedly attacked and robbed her on July 22 and was arrested on Aug. 7 for aggravated robbery — he is now held on a $153,000 bond.  San Angelo LIVE!
  • San Angelo police swarmed the 1000 blocks of North Monroe and North Jackson after reports of gunfire at 11 p.m. Friday — officers later said a suspect fled on foot while a second shooting unfolded.  San Angelo LIVE!

  • Fort Concho will host the free, second annual Fess Parker Fess-tival on Aug. 16 to honor San Angelo native and Hollywood star Fess Parker at the Quartermaster Building—located at Burgess Street and East Avenue C—with a morning program featuring breakfast, historical exhibits, games and contests and an evening session with refreshments, a trivia quiz, a movie screening and a group singalong.  San Angelo LIVE!
