- ➤ The San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts will host a free family event on August 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at its education studio on Love Street — art and science activities like egg painting and 3D model building along with a free children's book giveaway will be offered — and gallery admission is free with light refreshments while supplies last. - ➤ Corrections officers at the Tom Green County Jail reported 14 bookings in the past 24 hours — the arrests included charges for deadly conduct, family violence, and drug offenses while 430 individuals remain in the jail. San Angelo LIVE!

- ➤ Today the Perseid meteor shower peaks although an 84%-full moon will wash out most meteors, leaving only the brightest visible in the pre-dawn hours. - ➤ The 2025-26 school year starts Thursday, August 14 and San Angelo ISD has released bell schedules for all schools that show specific times for drop-off, first bells, lunch, and dismissal for Pre-K, elementary, middle, and high schools. San Angelo LIVE!
- ➤ Angelo State University purchased the former USAA building at 2320 Sunset Drive and named it The Nexus at Angelo State to house the Kay Bailey Hutchison Center for Cyber Intelligence, the Innovation and Research Hub, and the Regional Security Operations Center.
