- ➤ The Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office said its online warrant list has been restored—now showing 4,062 active warrants with new entries added this week and advising residents not to try to apprehend anyone but to call 325-655-8111 for tips. San Angelo LIVE!
- ➤ San Angelo City Council approved up to $1 million from North TIRZ to help commercial property owners repair flood damage from the July 4 storm. Eligible properties in RM1, RM2, and commercial zones can apply for up to $55,000 over 90 days for renovations, environmental cleanup, drainage improvements, and safety upgrades — any unspent funds will return to the TIRZ fund. - ➤ Governor Greg Abbott renewed and amended the flood disaster declaration for 30 counties—including Tom Green—after heavy rains and flash flooding caused property damage, injuries, and loss of life. - ➤ Today, Congressman August Pfluger's office won the 2025 Democracy Award from the Congressional Management Foundation for its excellence in constituent correspondence and outreach—highlighting its effective methods for keeping constituents informed. San Angelo LIVE!
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The San Angelo/Tom Green County Health Department inspected restaurants from Aug. 3-9 to check compliance with state food safety rules. Several establishments earned perfect scores while a few, including Mr. T's Deli, received low marks for issues such as unidentified toxic substances and dirty surfaces—prompting follow-up actions by the department. - ➤ The Wall Hawks held their second scrimmage on Thursday against Breckenridge as they prepared for the 2025 football season—practicing hard in the high heat to improve their play. Head Coach Craig Slaughter said quarterback Landon York made key deep passes that led to touchdowns and showed the team's focus for upcoming games. San Angelo LIVE!
- ➤ Angelo State University athletic department announced Wednesday that season tickets for fall sports are available for purchase in person at the ticket office on University Ave or by calling 325-942-2583, and online sales are not offered. Single-game tickets will be sold during the first week of September + the football, volleyball and women's soccer teams will open their home schedules on Sept. 4-6. San Angelo LIVE!
