- ➤ San Angelo Medical Assistant School will open its new campus in September—located at 3180 Executive Dr, Ste. 102—to offer accelerated hands-on training for future medical assistants. - ➤ A proposed 200-mile transmission line led by LCRA TSC and Oncor is drawing strong criticism from residents, environmental groups, and officials who say it will harm the fragile San Saba River — local landowners worry that the planned steel towers and wide easements may worsen erosion and flooding if the project is approved for construction before 2030. - ➤ Texas’ Parents’ Bill of Rights took effect on September 1 when Governor Greg Abbott signed the law—it bans DEI hiring and makes sex education opt-in. - ➤ Last week’s high school football in West Texas showcased thrilling action as San Angelo Lake View won a close game against Fort Stockton after Kentrell Johnson’s 95‐yard interception return—Junction’s Eagles dominated Goldthwaite and Ozona’s Christian Villarreal rushed for 371 yards and 7 TDs.
