San Angelo River Fest will close on Saturday, Sept.
19, with Cupid, known as the 'Line Dance King', taking the stage at 8 p.m.; the free event offers live music, sports, family activities, food and craft vendors, and a car show along the Concho River.

The Texas Animal Health Commission on Thursday lifted movement restrictions for warm blooded animals in parts of Coke and Tom Green counties after tests found no additional New World screwworm cases.
Officials said measures imposed in June have been successful + surveillance remains in place to protect animal health.
Texas DPS is increasing road patrols today through Sept.
7 to check for speeding, impaired driving, and other violations + help keep holiday travel safe in San Angelo.
🏈 Sports
Water Valley Wildcats will host No. 1-ranked Rankin Red Devils Friday at 7 p.m. in Water Valley in a rematch of last season’s state semifinal, when Rankin secured an upset win.
The Wildcats are retooling their lineup with one returning starter and will seek to reclaim their success.
Five Concho Valley schools appear in this week’s state volleyball rankings released by the Texas Girls Coaches Association.
Wall, now No. 8 in Class 3A after its win at the Nita Vannoy Memorial Tournament in San Angelo, joins Sterling City, Water Valley, Veribest and Bronte on the list.
The ASU Rodeo Team named former rider Nathan Clawson as assistant coach and arena manager to improve training at the Fairgrounds, and he will support upcoming events including the Cisco College Rodeo opener on Sept.
10 and the ASU College Rodeo from Oct. 22 to 24.
