- ➤ San Angelo’s newest fiberglass sheep will be revealed next Tuesday at Santa Rita Elementary School at 615 S. Madison St. at 5:15 p.m.—it is part of Downtown San Angelo Inc.’s Sheeptacular art project involving about 150 sheep across the city and was made possible by students, local clubs and community partners. - ➤ Meals for the Elderly's Community Champions delivered meals — brightening the day for homebound seniors in San Angelo with warmth and care. FOX West Texas
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Three Tom Green County landowners filed a lawsuit against Banner Resources LLC + several Prestonwood entities, claiming they failed to pay over $11,500 in royalties, more than $66,000 in surface damages, and $31,500 in penalties from oil operations between March 2019 and February 2020. The suit alleges the lease ended when drilling ceased and a hearing is set for Sept. 24 in the 391st District Court to void the lease and remove any claims. San Angelo LIVE!

GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ San Angelo hired Amanda Weddle as its new animal services manager on Sept. 15 (bringing over 25 years of animal care experience) to lead animal control, shelter management and community outreach. She will oversee daily operations and enforce local pet laws (drawing on her prior roles in College Station, Lewisville and Frisco) in her new role. San Angelo Standard-Times
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ A benefit concert for San Angelo siblings Cory and Kelsea Turnbull battling Huntington’s disease is planned for Saturday at the Christoval Ice House — the event will feature live music by Clever Blue and Bri Bagwell, food, auctions, raffles, goat roping and a poker run — to raise funds for their care. SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ The Lake View Chiefs will play the Lubbock Westerners Friday at 7 p.m. at San Angelo Stadium in a season opener—Chiefs are 3-0 so far and will rely on junior quarterback Chris Alvizo and running back Izaiah Rios for a win. San Angelo LIVE!
- ➤ Angelo State University Rams will host five home football games this season with tailgate events that include Family Day, Pink Out for Breast Cancer Awareness, Homecoming, and Military Appreciation. - ➤ The Central Bobcats will drive over three hours to Belton to face the Tigers on Friday at 6:30 p.m. on 94.7 KIXY-FM — the team aims to tie its record at 2-2 after a 41-38 loss on their only previous visit, while the Tigers stand at 2-1. KWFR
