- ➤ Angelo State University will host a free recital on Sept. 24 at 7 p.m. in the Carr Education Fine Arts Building where French pianist Jeanne Hourez will perform with saxophonist Joel Ferst and Dr. Timothy Bonenfant on bass clarinet—featuring works by Harriet Steinke and Clara Schumann. - ➤ San Angelo ISD trustees voted Thursday to spend nearly $565K on two new Blue Bird buses—replacing older vehicles in the district's fleet. Transportation Director Lee Livingston said the buses are in Lubbock and will be readied for delivery immediately. San Angelo LIVE!

- ➤ Angelo State beat Western New Mexico 56-27 on Saturday night at LeGrand Stadium—eight different players scored touchdowns to extend the Rams' Lone Star Conference winning streak to 14 games. San Angelo LIVE!
- ➤ Ozona star running back Christian Villarreal received the Build Ford Tough Class 2A Player of the Week award on Friday at Ozona High School after he rushed for 371 yards and seven touchdowns in the win over McCamey—his strong season helps him move toward the 1,000-yard mark as the Lions chase a first district title since 2016.
