COMMUNITY NEWS

  • San Angelo Country Club will celebrate the grand opening of its updated golf course on Oct. 16-17 with a welcome reception on Oct. 16 that starts at 5:30 p.m., clubhouse celebrations, and Oct. 17 ceremonies including a first tee shot—guests must RSVP online or through the club’s app at 1609 Country Club Road.  San Angelo LIVE!

CULTURE NEWS

  • Fort Concho will host Frontier Frights this October, featuring haunted tours on Oct. 10—11, a murder mystery game on Oct. 17—18 and a haunted house on Oct. 24—25. Tickets cost $12 for general admission and $10 for members while children under 6 are free, and all tickets must be purchased in person at the Barracks 1 Visitor Center.  San Angelo LIVE!

  • San Angelo is hosting a range of fall and Halloween events this month, including a corn maze and pumpkin patch in Wall with set admission fees and family movie nights at the Bearded Barista.   • The 4-1 Lake View Chiefs lost their last game but now aim to rebound against the 1-4 Burnet Bulldogs at San Angelo Stadium at 7 p.m. today—led by quarterback Chris Alvizo and running back Izaiah Rios, they are looking to reverse their fortunes.  San Angelo LIVE!
  • The Central Bobcats (3-2) are on a bye week as head coach Mark Smith held a Sept. 29 press conference to review their 48-6 win over Waco and outline plans for the district game against Midland Legacy set for Friday, Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. at San Angelo Stadium—highlighting the team's strong offense with over 40 points in each of the last three games—demonstrating both effective passing and a powerful ground attack.  San Angelo LIVE!
  • In Week 6, five high school football games will take place in West Texas as the Lake View Chiefs host Burnet today at San Angelo Stadium after a close loss last week, Water Valley faces Rankin in Tom Green County—one of the season's key matchups, top-ranked Wall plays Idalou, Grape Creek meets TLCA, and Robert Lee takes on Bronte in a storied Coke County rivalry.  San Angelo LIVE!
  • Angelo State Rams will play No. 9 UT Permian Basin at 6 p.m. Saturday at LeGrand Stadium as both teams remain undefeated and aim to win the Lone Star Conference title—ASU awaits a game-time decision for quarterback Braeden Fuller and will host a tailgate party from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.  San Angelo LIVE!
  • Angelo State University invites locals to join ASU Game Day on Oct. 4 with a Ram Jam tailgate featuring a free concert by Texas country artist Logan Tucker and Pink Out events for Breast Cancer Awareness. The Rambelles soccer team meets West Texas A&M at 1 p.m. while the Rams face UT Permian Basin at 6 p.m.—fans are encouraged to wear pink.  San Angelo LIVE!
  • Angelo State University will host its first college rodeo at the San Angelo Fairgrounds from Oct. 23–25 as part of the annual Cinch Roping Fiesta—there will be a rodeo performance on Thursday at 6 p.m., a Slack session on Friday at 8:30 a.m., and finals on Saturday at 6 p.m.  San Angelo LIVE!
