- ➤ Fort Concho National Historic Landmark will open its newly rebuilt barracks and mess halls on October 16 from 5-6:30 p.m.—the new facilities will house the Fort Concho Library and Archives and the Noelke Library. San Angelo Standard-Times

- ➤ The No. 5 Angelo State football team lost 28—14 to the No. 9 UT Permian Basin team on Saturday after falling behind early, and the loss means they no longer control their own destiny in the conference. They will try to bounce back next week at Texas A&M-Kingsville. San Angelo LIVE!
- ➤ The No.2 ranked Wall Hawks were tested on Friday in a close road game before pulling ahead for a 35 to 21 win over Idalou and moving to 6–0.
