- ➤ A Kinder Morgan oil well near Toyah was sealed after 19 days of gas and toxic vapor leaks that forced evacuations and left a strong rotten egg smell. - ➤ In Friday’s game at Ozona High, running back Christian Villarreal rushed 16 times for 296 yards and 6 touchdowns while catching a 45 yard touchdown pass in the Lions’ 96 to 14 win over Reagan County—boosting his season total to 2,068 yards and 29 scores as he chases the state’s all-time rushing record. - ➤ Eldorado Eagles overcame a 20-point deficit to beat the Iraan Braves 45-42 in their district opener on Friday night—staging a comeback with a game-winning touchdown in the fourth quarter. - ➤ On Friday, the Lake View Chiefs won a 58 to 26 game over Brownfield to improve their record to 5 to 2 while snapping a losing streak.
