GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Residents near San Angelo Regional Airport will notice more T-6 Texan II training flights until Nov. 15—officials warn that the increased air traffic will lead to louder skies and higher noise levels.  San Angelo LIVE!

HEALTH NEWS

  • Angelo State University's LWBIWH will host the third annual Dink for Pink fundraiser on Sunday, Oct. 26 at Bentwood Country Club — the event starts at 2 p.m. with a pickleball beginners clinic and tennis cardio games beginning at 3 p.m.; entry fees of $60 or $50 will support breast cancer awareness in the Concho Valley.  San Angelo LIVE!

SPORTS NEWS

  • Angelo State football moved up two spots to number 19 in the Division 2 AFCA Coaches poll and will play winless Sul Ross State in Alpine this Saturday at 7 p.m. The Rams basketball team was picked sixth in the Lone Star Conference preseason poll and will open its season with a tournament in Billings from Nov. 7 to 9 + the Belles will start their season with a trip to Colorado on Nov. 14.  KWFR
  • After losing 35-27 to the Permian Panthers last Friday when a missed field goal and an interception returned for a touchdown proved costly, Central Bobcats plan to take control when they host Midland High at 7:30 p.m. Friday to keep their playoff hopes alive — Coach Smith said an early lead will force Midland to change their run-heavy game.  San Angelo LIVE!
  • The Angelo State Rams beat Midwestern State (42-24) last Saturday to end a two-game losing streak and improve to 5-2 overall while moving to 3-2 in conference play. Head Coach Jeff Girsch previewed their next game as the Rams will travel to Alpine for a 7 p.m. matchup with Sul Ross State on Oct. 25.  San Angelo LIVE!
