  • The Concho Valley Regional Food Bank is offering food pantries in San Angelo as SNAP pauses starting Saturday due to the anticipated government shutdown—pantry schedules vary by day with sites like Project Dignidad at 313 W.   • Immanuel Baptist Church is giving out free chicken dinners tonight to families in need at its fall festival at 90 E. 14th St.—the church served a record crowd at a Thursday food bank event and now has enough food to help 500 families as SNAP benefits end Saturday.  San Angelo LIVE!

  • AAA Texas said gas prices fell three cents from last week with the state average at $2.59 per gallon, and San Angelo drivers pay $2.81 per gallon—one of the highest in Texas—while the national average is $3.04 per gallon, with prices expected to drop further as crude oil costs remain low.  San Angelo LIVE!

  • Today, workers stock 600 nine-inch channel catfish in the Concho River near the Oakes Street Bridge for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Neighborhood Fishing Program, aiding local fish replenishment.  KWFR

  • On Thursday night, the Wall Lady Hawks swept Blanco 3-0 in the Bi-District Playoff Round in Brady—winning set scores of 25-14, 25-16, and 26-24. They will face the winner of the Tolar and Henrietta matchup soon—details remain to be determined.  San Angelo LIVE!
  • The Lake View Chiefs won 42-14 over Pecos last Thursday after a 2.5 hour rain delay and secured their first winning season in 21 years. Head Coach Hector Guevara said the team will play Big Spring today at 7 p.m.—they need another win to stay atop district standings and in contention for the championship.  San Angelo LIVE!
  • This year marks the 50th anniversary of San Angelo native Brian 'Sailor' Roberts winning the World Series of Poker Main Event at Binion’s Horseshoe in Las Vegas in 1975 when his pocket jacks beat a busted flush draw to win $210,000. Roberts later made several final tables and secured a 1974 bracelet, earning his honor in the Poker Hall of Fame.  San Angelo LIVE!
  • Angelo State women’s soccer team beat UT Dallas 2-0 on Wednesday night at LeGrand Soccer Complex in their first meeting, with an 88th minute goal sealing the win. The win—marked by early pressure and strong defense—moved the Rambelles to a 9-3-4 record as they prepare for a road game Saturday against Texas A&M International.  San Angelo LIVE!
  • Angelo State announced its 2026 baseball schedule as head coach Kevin Brooks and the defending Lone Star Conference champions gear up for a three-game road series at UT Permian Basin from Jan. 30 to Feb. 1 before hosting UT Tyler from Feb. 6 to 8 at Foster Field at 1st Community Credit Union Stadium — the schedule now features only conference play with shorter opening series. The changes come after a strong 2025 season where the team won both the LSC regular-season and tournament titles.  San Angelo LIVE!
