- ➤ Volunteers are needed today at Fairmount Cemetery to place more than 1,800 American flags on veterans' graves ahead of Veterans Day. They will meet at 2 p.m. at the cemetery gazebo (112 West Avenue N) to honor veterans from several wars. San Angelo LIVE!
- ➤ On Saturday, crowds gathered at the Pop Art Museum on 125 W. Twohig Ave for Tamale Fest where contestants competed in an annual tamale-eating contest that kicked off an entertainment lineup with DJ Mirage at 1 p.m., big head performers at 2 p.m. and Mariachi Los Caciques at 4 p.m. More than 40 vendors offered local food, crafts and art along Twohig Ave and five tamale vendors competed in a cook-off with awards including best authentic tamale and people’s choice until the fest ended at 6:30 p.m. San Angelo LIVE!
