- ➤ Funds raised at the Band Together Texas benefit concert on Aug. 17 are now being distributed to help families and communities hit by severe Central Texas floods, with $8M going to the Central Texas Community Foundation + additional funds supporting Habitat for Humanity’s Home for the Holidays program in six affected counties. - ➤ Carlos Mendez, a former Standard-Times reporter born in San Angelo, died on Nov 7 at Medical Center Arlington after a 12-day hospital stay from a running accident. He was known for his award-winning journalism — his organ donations saved six lives and will help up to 70 more — and leaves behind his wife Cynthia and their three children. - ➤ University Theatre at Angelo State University opens its fall dinner show, The Great American Trailer Park Musical, starting Tuesday, Nov 18 in the ASU Modular Theatre at the Carr Education-Fine Arts Building. - ➤ AAA released a report that shows San Angelo drivers pay the highest gas prices in Texas at $2.79 per gallon for regular unleaded fuel—marking a slight rise from last week. - ➤ Angelo State University will celebrate the planetarium's 40th anniversary on Saturday, November 15 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. with free immersive shows, STEM activities and a panel featuring former director Dr. Mark Sonntag. - ➤ Bishop Michael J. Sis from San Angelo tied with Archbishop Alexander K. Sample with 111 votes at a national bishops’ meeting in Baltimore and then withdrew—letting Sample start as chair of the Committee for Religious Liberty on Thursday and serve until November—. San Angelo LIVE!

- ➤ On November 13, the San Angelo Central Bobcats traveled to Ratliff Stadium in Odessa to play El Paso Pebble Hills in the high school playoffs and led 7—0 at halftime. Defensive tackle Brian Sandoval’s early interception helped set up the only score, and the team will receive the kickoff to start the second half. San Angelo LIVE!
- ➤ Senior catcher Mia Clemmer signed with the University of Texas on November 12 at Coahoma High School, joining teammate Hannah Wells and adding to the town's strong softball legacy. - ➤ Lake View lost 52-14 to Lampasas in the playoff game at San Angelo Stadium on Thursday night, and quarterback Chris Alvizo was injured in the second quarter after a hard hit & left the game.
