- ➤ Angelo State University held its annual tree-lighting event Tuesday night featuring music, games, treats, and a synthetic ice rink on the campus lawn outside the Mayer Museum. Families, students and community members enjoyed the celebration with Santa Claus visiting, and the 26-ft tree remains on display for the season. FOX West Texas
- ➤ San Angelo State Park holds its final Chat of 2025 today to discuss its annual Christmas Celebration and fire safety as temperatures drop. Local residents will gain key updates on festive events and safety measures. FOX West Texas
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Concho Christmas Celebration Tour of Lights will hold its soft opening on Dec. 5 along the Concho River, featuring 2.5 miles of displays and over 3 million lights — and it debuts a new entryway with large light bulbs at the corner of 1st and South Bryant. FOX West Texas
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Angelo State University announced that Robert King, a freshman Agricultural Science major from Caldwell, was found dead on campus Monday, Nov. 24 in a residence hall. A special flag will be hung in his memory at the Houston Harte University Center. San Angelo Standard-Times
- ➤ The San Angelo Area Foundation established the Major General Patrick Brady Medal of Honor—Fort Chadbourne Scholarship on Dec. 3 to honor the veteran’s achievements and assist Concho Valley students pursuing technical education. Donations of any amount are welcomed. San Angelo Standard-Times
