GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The City of San Angelo named a new economic development director who will take office on Dec. 16 (the appointment supports efforts to boost local economic growth). FOX West Texas
- ➤ The Texas Demographer’s Office released final estimates showing San Angelo gained 1,280 residents since 2020 (the metropolitan area added 3,285; Tom Green County grew by 3,323; Irion County lost 38). Officials say future growth will rely on migration as fertility rates drop. San Angelo Standard-Times
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ The Wall Hawks face three-time defending state champion Gunter Tigers today at 6 p.m. in Stephenville, with the winner set to advance to the state championship (a second final appearance for the team). KWFR
