ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On Friday afternoon at 1 p.m. a car crashed into United Express at 3131 Sunset Drive when a 45-year-old driver suffered a medical emergency as a store employee attempted to push the gasless car to the fuel pumps—no one was injured but a large window was broken and the store has closed. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A San Angelo officer was injured when he tried to detain 38-year-old Paul Garcia on the 4400 block of Green Valley Trail at 9:26 a.m. Friday—Garcia resisted arrest, sustained minor injuries, and was taken to Shannon Medical Center while facing multiple charges. San Angelo Standard-Times
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ San Angelo ISD will move students and staff in three programs to the former CHS freshman campus at 218 N. Oakes St. Special Education staff will relocate to the building's second floor — PAYS students and Carver Learning Center students will move to the first floor and annex respectively — while Career & Technical Education courses continue as scheduled. - ➤ The San Angelo Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors voted Thursday morning to endorse the San Angelo ISD Bond 2025—this move aims to boost local industry and support existing businesses while building a stronger local economy. Early voting starts Tuesday, April 22nd and Election Day is Saturday, May 3rd. KWFR
- ➤ Starting April 11, Middle Concho and Spring Creek parks will accept only credit or debit cards for entry fees. Middle Concho has an automated payment gate — Spring Creek uses a similar system, and fee options remain at $5 for day passes, $10 for camping passes, and $30 for annual passes with a $20 discount for seniors and the disabled available at the Recreation office on S. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ San Angelo LIVE! is giving a chance to win tickets to The Western Roundup cancer benefit concert featuring Shane Smith and the Saints and Cody Canada and the Departed to help five locals fighting cancer, including Carlie Jo Johnson, Konner Barnes, Mallary Campos, Ray Cook and Robert Lasater. - ➤ San Angelo Central’s Christian English was named MVP of San Angelo LIVE!’s All-Star Boys Hoops Team after leading his team to a 24-11 record and posting averages of 20.6 points, 6.2 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 3.7 steals per game. - ➤ Because bad weather is expected in Kingsville this weekend, the No. 4 Angelo State Rams baseball series against Texas A&M Kingsville will be moved; the games will now be played in double headers on Sunday, March 30 and Monday, March 31—changes from the original schedule. San Angelo LIVE!
